MEM­BERS of the WA Wa­ter­colour So­ci­ety are busy putting the fin­ish­ing touches to paint­ings for their 38th an­nual awards ex­hi­bi­tion.

It will open with more than 250 works at the Ital­ian Club in Fre­man­tle this Thurs­day at 6.30pm.

Paint­ings will be judged in sev­eral cat­e­gories: best in show, gen­eral, still life, in­no­va­tive, plein air and this year’s spe­cial cat­e­gory, re­flec­tions.

Award win­ners also gain points to­ward be­com­ing fel­lows of the so­ci­ety, a sought-af­ter hon­our in one of the few Aus­tralian art so­ci­eties to have a ju­ried en­try level.

Vis­i­tors can vote for the peo­ple’s choice award.
