Help beat cancer stress
THE Cancer Council WA will offer free programs to help improve the lives of people in Wangara and Duncraig who have cancer.
A range of free support programs specifically designed for people living with cancer and their carers will be provided through the Cancer Council’s Life Now Program.
The Life Now Yoga program offers a free six-week course, which aims to guide participants through gentle stretching to help improve fitness, flexibility and overall wellbeing.
The Life Now Mindfulness program is a free eight-week course also available to help participants manage their stress, improve their mood and sleep.
Participants will receive practical coping techniques to counter the effects of cancer-related stress that can be implemented in their everyday life.
According to the Cancer Council, research has shown that most people benefit from a range of stressreduction programs such as yoga and mindfulness when practised before, during and after their cancer treatment.
The yoga program in Wangara will be held on Mondays from 3pm, starting on October 15.
The mindfulness program in Duncraig will be on Wednesdays from 11am, starting on October 24.
