Live and Learn – Ever­est Base Camp Trek

Thurs­day 18 May, 10.00am City of Joon­dalup Li­braries – Joon­dalup Cost: $2.00 Four years ago Dr Pam Lynch took a leap way out of her com­fort zone and trekked to Ever­est Base Camp to cel­e­brate her 60th birthday, a trek that opened her eyes and her mind. It was the hard­est thing she had ever done, phys­i­cally and men­tally, yet it was also the most re­ward­ing and stim­u­lat­ing ex­pe­ri­ence. Na­tional Si­mul­ta­ne­ous Story Time

Wed­nes­day 24 May, 10.00am City of Joon­dalup Li­braries – Joon­dalup Na­tional Si­mul­ta­ne­ous Story Time is an an­nual cam­paign that aims to en­cour­age more young Aus­tralians to read and en­joy books. Ev­ery year a picture book, writ­ten and il­lus­trated by an Aus­tralian author and il­lus­tra­tor is read si­mul­ta­ne­ously in li­braries, schools, pre-schools, child­care cen­tres, fam­ily homes, book­shops and many other places around the coun­try. This year’s spe­cial guest will be read­ing The Cow Tripped Over the Moon writ­ten by Tony Wil­son and il­lus­trated by Laura Wood.
