Funding for campground
UPGRADES to the campground at Yanchep National Park will receive $261,500 in Federal Government funding to boost tourism in the region.
The funding is a partnership between the Federal and State governments as part of the national $43 million Tourism Demand Driver Infrastructure program.
A trial campground was established there in 2016, providing 20 sites, and the campground became permanent after the one-year trial.
The Federal funding, in conjunction with State funding, will go towards construction of an ablutions block, road access, parking areas, paths, signage, a barbecue shelter and campsite infrastructure.
IT’S time for the coastal path between Burns Beach and Mindarie Marina to be completed.
You may have seen in recent news that there was a cyclist killed on Marmion Avenue between those two points.
This death could have been avoided. Let’s try keep more people safe by motivating the State Government to act now.
I was promised by the councils and MPs for that area that work would start two years ago. I also believe that funds were made available then, so cost should not be an issue.
The Government promotes healthy living and cycling is a huge part of that, so please make it safer for me and my grandkids to cycle the coastal path from Mindarie to Burns Beach.
Please make this project urgent to prevent any more deaths on our roads. ROBERT SLABAK, Mindarie
