BLACK Swan Health’s inaugural Youth Ball is already having much success – all tickets have been snapped up.

To be held this Friday as part of Mental Health Week, the “event with a twist” will transform the Novotel Hotel ballroom into a parallel world of eclecticism where nothing is quite as it seems.

The ball is a free event for people aged 15 to 20, themed on Tim Burton’s quirky fantasy-filled film Through the Looking Glass.

Co-ordinated by Black Swan Health’s headspace Joondalup and Osborne Park centres, the evening aims to promote mental health awareness and support services for young people.

“We are really excited to be celebrating our inaugural Youth Ball to celebrate young people and all of their amazing strength and resilience when it comes to their mental health,” Joondalup operations manager Ciara Crotty said.

“It has been designed by our young people for our young people and aims to reduce the stigma associated with mental health and to promote suicide prevention.

“We are looking forward to a great night of celebration ahead.”
