Kalei­do­scope Fes­ti­val wins prized na­tional award

THE City of Joon­dalup’s in­au­gu­ral Kalei­do­scope Fes­ti­val has won a pres­ti­gious Aus­tralian award.

The 2016 fes­ti­val was named the Na­tional Event of the Year at the Parks and Leisure Aus­tralia Awards of Ex­cel­lence on the Gold Coast on Tues­day.

It had won the State ti­tle and was recog­nised as WA’s Best New Event and Best Cul­tural, Arts or Mu­sic Event at the 2017 Aus­tralian Events Awards.

The free Kalei­do­scope 2017 – to be staged in the Joon­dalup City Cen­tre from Thursday, Novem­ber 9 to Sun­day, Novem­ber 12 – will fea­ture 64 artists who will show­case their light in­stal­la­tions, il­lu­mi­na­tions, pro­jec­tions, art and per­for­mances to a big au­di­ence.

Peo­ple can visit the event site from 5pm daily; the lights come on at 7.30pm.
