PERTH students Chloe Brown (13), of Iluka, and Ava Stuart (12), of Carramar have been chosen to perform with the Australian Girls Choir (AGC) on its national tour from June 22 to July 6.

The pair will join 54 other choristers aged 10 to 16 for concerts in Canberra, Nowra, the Blue Mountains, Wagga Wagga and Sydney.

Highlights will include performances at the Australian War Memorial and Parliament House in Canberra, a feature concert at the Blue Mountains Theatre and a final appearance at the Australian Maritime Museum.

Chloe, who has been in the choir for three years, said she loved singing and performing and having the opportunity to travel.

“I’m very excited about the tour, meeting new people and performing at the different venues,” she said.

Ava said she had been singing ever since she could speak, taking part in many school performances and joining the AGC four years ago.

“I love that it’s like a big family,” she said.

“You create friendships with girls from all different levels all over WA; I have made so many new friends over the last few years.”

She said she was “very honoured and privileged” to be chosen and was most looking forward to visiting Canberra.

This will be the 41st tour for the AGC in its 34-year history.

The choir is also well known for representing Qantas in its I Still Call Australia Home advertising campaigns.
