Sad end to search for missing man
THE body of a man believed to be missing 87-year-old man Alexander Henderson was found by searchers yesterday in bushland south of Mullaloo Drive.
After two days of searching Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park, police had reconvened at Hillarys police station on Tuesday evening to go through information received from the public.
Mr Henderson was last seen leaving his Hillarys home at 4.30pm on Thursday, August 16.
Police, mounted officers and SES volunteers focused early searches on parks in the Hillarys, Padbury, Kallaroo and Craigie areas as well as the coast.
Yesterday they were searching the Kallaroo area, with Mr Henderson believed to have been seen walking along Bridgewater Drive about 2pm the day before he went missing.
Police had appealed to members of the public to review any dashcam or CCTV footage they had from the Kallaroo area between noon and 7pm on Wednesday, August 15, for sightings of the grandfather.
People who live or work in the Kallaroo area had also been encouraged to check their backyards, sheds, garages or other areas.
The investigation into the circumstances of Mr Henderson’s death is ongoing. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
