Warragul & Drouin Gazette - - ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT -

The Latrobe Chorale is hosting an information night for people who would like to sing Brahms’ “A German Requiem” with the choir in July.

It will be held tonight (Tuesday) in Morwell and include listening to music to be performed and light refreshments.

Latrobe Chorale president Kate Linde said concert pianist Brian Chapman of Drouin had offered to accompany the chorale during rehearsals and performances in 2017.

“Brian has been performing for more than 40 years in Australia and overseas,” said Ms Linde. “Highlights of his career include more than 100 recordings and broadcasts for the ABC. It will be a marvellous opportunity for singers to perform a classic of the choral repertoire with such an accomplished musician.”

No auditions are required. Rehearsal CDs and sound files will be available to help people to learn their parts.

Rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays from 7.30pm to 10pm at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Morwell.
