Seeking an apology
On Jan uary 30 Neerim District Soldiers Memorial Hospital had a meeting to discuss issues raised by members and primarily to change the current constitution.
It was to my surprise that I found out on attending this meeting as a member of the association of the hospital that in fact my membership application had not been accepted along with four other applications. Never in the history of the health service has this been done.
The board of management have no reason for this and refused to explain why monies had not been refunded or letters written prior to this meeting.
It was humiliating to have to put up my hand as an identification process at the meeting. There were more than 50 residents in attendance.
I feel it is appropriate that I receive a public apology. I have been in Neerim South/Noojee for nearly 25 years and have always been on committees for the benefit of this town.
Since my retirement from the NDSMH theatre as a registered nurse I have been a member of the ladies guild of the hospital for 15 years. I have participated in the Neerim District Lions Club for 12 years.
I have been involved with the Neerim District Food relief group from 2012 and assisted in the incorporation of the group to become president in 2014 and I still hold this position and work within the group as a volunteer.
Each Friday I run the meat raffle at the local hotel to raise funds for food relief and have been doing this for the past three years.
I have been on the Neerim District show committee and volunteer for the last nine years.
I am a member of the Neerim South Senior Citizens since 2002 and am also a member of Drouin Senior Citizens for the past five years.
