Taken control

Warragul & Drouin Gazette - - NEWS -

Looks like the new councillors have finally taken control of Baw Baw Shire - great news.

Refer to the Gazette of January 4 and February 1 where the Baw Baw Shire Ratepayers Association questions the secrecy about the purchase of the new dog pound.

Now perhaps we can get the councillors to do what the Baw Baw citizens elected them for run the council and not leave bureaucrats in control.

Whilst you are there find out the truth of the $1.3 million cost of the dog pound and have a public forum to discuss that and the proposed alterations to the West Gippsland Arts Centre.

It already has a loss of $500,000 a year. I understand that the staff are going to be retained during the renovation with no income. Does that mean the loss will blow out to $1.5 million over the next two years.
