Sharks win GCL fi­nal

Sale-Maf­fra de­feated Trar­al­gon in the se­nior de­cider.

The Sharks posted 191 be­fore bowl­ing Trar­al­gon out for 139 in 30 overs.

Jack Ri­etschel led the charge for the Sharks, scor­ing 73 be­fore pick­ing up three wick­ets with the ball.

Alex Mel­lor (39) and Stu­art An­der­son (34)helped boost the Sale-Maf­fra to­tal, while Isaac Love also picked up three wick­ets.

Sev­eral Trar­al­gon bats­men got starts but couldn’t go on with it. Tim Gar­ner picked up three wick­ets to be their best with the ball.

Mel­lor took out the Alan Rankin me­mo­rial medal for se­nior best and fairest.

WDCA’s Fraser Dun­can was se­lected as cap­tain in the All Gipp­s­land XI, with James Wil­liams also se­lected in the team.
