Halloran opener leads the way

Warragul & Drouin Gazette - - GAZETTE SPORT -

(58 not out) got the scoreboard ticking over.

Tynan North (25), John Jacovou (22), and James Scammell (22) all made good starts but failed to capitalise.

Brad Cross (3/53) and John Tyrrell (3/27) were the pick of the bowlers with Cameron Caddy chipping in with 2/14.

In reply the Hawks lost key wickets with Tyrrell out for a duck and Ron Harper going for 21.

Brad Cross will resume on 21 and is an important part of Drouin’s chances of victory.

Ellinbank will be bolstered by the inclusion of Matt Guy on day two. It’s a tough one to call but I’m backing Drouin to get the runs.

O’Neill stuns Gulls

Warragul 10/152 vs Garfield/Tynong Garfield/Tynong will go into day two of their contest with Warragul full of confidence after a sensational bowling performance from Mick O’Neill saw the Gulls skittled for 152.

Coming on as first change O’Neill sent down 17 overs to come away with 7/29.

John Mulqueen (62) anchored the Warragul innings with good support from Wayne Miller (25).

The Titans should have little trouble reaching the target but the ones you should win are often the hardest to win.
