Drouin loses parking

-

Another six car parking spaces in Drouin’s main shopping area have been lost.

The latest reduction follows the loss of another four spaces late last year to accommodate a second pedestrian crossing in Princes Way, just west of Bank Place.

The creation of a bus stop associated with new town bus services introduced by Public Transport Victoria earlier this month forced the relocation of the taxi rank in the town centre.

The new bus stop takes up the area in Hope St, between Princes Way and the railway line, where the taxi rank and two car parking spaces were previously located.

Four parking spaces on the southern side of Princes Way, in front of Memorial Park, have been removed to enable the taxi rank to be relocated there.

Baw Baw shire is currently undertaking a parking strategy review for Drouin in consultation with the local business community with the aim of developing further car parking in the shopping precinct.
