Cold conditions at Prom Coast

-

The South Gippsland teams travelled to Prom Coast and played in very cold conditions.

This week’s games are against Inverloch at home.

Under 10

The under 10s continued their great form when they visited Prom Coast.

The opposition were short on numbers but two Drouin players volunteered to help out and even up the numbers, which meant everyone could play a full match. Tom and Hugo received a special thank you.

Drouin made the most of the near perfect conditions and capitalised with a two goals from Brennan, a hat trick from Harvey, one from the pocket rocket Darcy and Will scoring two (after spending a quiet first half in goal).

It was a great passing performance from Drouin, with all players contributing.

The side has grown in confidence over the past three games and it will be interesting to see how they perform against Inverloch next week at home.

Player awards: Drouin Dragons Soccer Club best on ground: Tom, for his excellent goal and the great sportsmanship he showed by playing for Prom Coast; Coaches award: Hugo, for the great sportsmanship he showed by playing for Prom Coast.

Fulltime Score: Prom Coast 2 Drouin 0

It was a fantastic team effort against a strong Prom Coast team.

A super effort all game in defence from Rinnan, Reeve and Sam and endless drive and good passing from Cooper in midfield setting up many opportunities for attack.

It could of been four or five nil at half time, but getting the ball in the back of the net was Drouin’s only let down for the duration of the game, something thjr team will work on this week, as well as getting more midfield support up forward.

It was a disappointing end result for such a consistent display all game long.

There were a lot of positives to take away from the game and if the finishing off had of been effective, this score would of easily tipped in Drouin’s favour.

This game was only a defeat on paper, not a true reflection of the game itself.

Player awards: Best on ground: Rinnan; Coaches award: Cooper.
