Awards set tone

-

The success of individual awards at the end of the 2016 season provided a solid launching pad for the Warragul Industrials Football Netball Club for season 2017.

Midfielder and assistant coach Tye Holland won the Alf Walton medal for senior best and fairest, finishing five votes clear of NeerimNeerim South’s Chris Urie.

Not expecting to win, the modest player did not attend the presentation night. The club just missed out on the double, with Damien Mullen pipped by just one vote for the Gerard Heenan medal.

Midfielder Will Gibson won the under 16 league best and fairest, and has since had a taste of senior football, bobbing up for a goal in the teams recent win over Ellinbank.
