Teenager dies after shooting
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of a shooting incident that killed a Nayook teenager last week.
The incident occurred in a bush area at Neerim South on Sunday, August 27.
Dustin Buckley, 17, was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with head injuries and in a critical condition. He died in hospital on Tuesday. Police continue to investigate circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Police reported Dustin, was with two friends in a bush area when the incident happened about 1.30pm on Sunday.
Investigators are still trying to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
A 17-year-old male and 23-year-old male are assisting police with investigations.
Police said they were not looking for any other parties in relation to the incident.
A memorial service for Dustin Buckley will be held at Hill End Football Clubrooms on Monday, September 11.
