Trees ga­lore for Te­toora Rd

Al­most 50 peo­ple turned out at the Te­toora Rd Com­mu­nity Cen­tre re­cently to as­sist with plant­ing ac­tiv­i­ties.

Do­na­tions of na­tive trees were pro­vided by the lo­cal Mt Worth and Dis­trict Land­care group.

Baw Baw Shire also as­sisted with the pro­vi­sion of some stakes and pro­tec­tors and the lo­cal vol­un­teers planted the trees with great en­thu­si­asm.

A small gar­den area in front of the hall also was planted, which was a great ac­tiv­ity in­volv­ing many of younger vol­un­teers.

Fruit trees also were planted to be­gin the ed­i­ble for­est to be de­vel­oped on the hall grounds.

“It’s great to see so many part­ner­ships start­ing to pay off,” said com­mit­tee of man­age­ment chair­per­son Sil­via Pon­gracic.

“With neigh­bours work­ing to­gether it is amaz­ing what we can achieve. “And the lunch pro­vided by lo­cal fam­i­lies was a fan­tas­tic way to un­wind af­ter a busy morn­ing,” she said.

The day was fin­ished with a chil­dren’s sport­ing ac­tiv­ity where about 20 lo­cal chil­dren were put through their paces by fitness in­struc­tor Margie Whit­ford with a fun range of ac­tiv­i­ties.
