Trees galore for Tetoora Rd
Almost 50 people turned out at the Tetoora Rd Community Centre recently to assist with planting activities.
Donations of native trees were provided by the local Mt Worth and District Landcare group.
Baw Baw Shire also assisted with the provision of some stakes and protectors and the local volunteers planted the trees with great enthusiasm.
A small garden area in front of the hall also was planted, which was a great activity involving many of younger volunteers.
Fruit trees also were planted to begin the edible forest to be developed on the hall grounds.
“It’s great to see so many partnerships starting to pay off,” said committee of management chairperson Silvia Pongracic.
“With neighbours working together it is amazing what we can achieve. “And the lunch provided by local families was a fantastic way to unwind after a busy morning,” she said.
The day was finished with a children’s sporting activity where about 20 local children were put through their paces by fitness instructor Margie Whitford with a fun range of activities.
