Beautiful orchids will fill the Drouin Anglican Church Hall this weekend as the West Gippsland Orchid Club presents its annual spring show.
The show will be open from 9am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
As well as a variety of orchids on display, the show will feature potting demonstrations, plant sales and members on hand to offer tips about growing orchids in West Gippsland.
Despite recent frosts posing a few headaches, club president Bob Lowrie said members were keen to showcase their orchids for Orchid Societies Council of Victoria judges.
“It hasn’t been one of the better years but we’re still confident of putting on a really good show,” said Mr Lowrie.
The club has been running for 30 years and attracts members from Bairnsdale to Koo Wee Rup.
Entry is $5 for adults and free for children.
Oboist Susan Batten of Melbourne’s Bayside Chamber Players is looking forward to meeting a new regional audience when they present “Music for a Golden Age” in Warragul on Sunday afternoon.
