MOE JUNIORS DOMINANT
Moe’s two junior sides sent ominous warnings to others still in the finals with outstanding second semifinal victories at the weekend.
The fourths showed why they have been unbeaten all year brushing aside Traralgon, whose only losses had been to the Lions, 8-10 to 1-0.
Almost as commanding a win was Moe thirds’ de- feat of Leongatha 8-4 to 1-11.
The Parrots kicked themselves out of the game when they could manage only nine behinds in the first half.
They’d lost only one match for the year until Saturday.
Moe finished the home and away rounds in third place but has won through to the grand final with big wins against Traralgon and Leongatha.
The Bairnsdale club’s finals campaign is over after both its thirds and fourths were first semifinal losers.
In the fourths the Redlegs led Leongatha by 16 points at half time only to be overrun in the second half to lose 5-15 to 8-7.
The Bairnsdale thirds also had a half time lead – four points – but couldn’t hold back Traralgon that went on to win 6-10 to 4-7.
