FIDA grand fi­nals keenly con­tested

Foot­ball In­te­gra­tion Devel­op­ment As­so­ci­a­tion grand fi­nals were keenly con­tested at Mont­morency re­cently.

While Kananook, Fern­tree Gully and Parkside walked away with com­fort­able vic­tory in the top di­vi­sions, there was ex­cite­ment in the divi­sion four de­cider where St Albans held on to de­feat Ru­pertswood by just five points.

St Albans Saints grew over the course of the sea­son, im­prov­ing their skills and team­work while dis­play­ing great sports­man­ship.

Best on ground was awarded to Jonathan Kha, who also kicked a goal in the grand fi­nal. Kon Have­las and Brett Mackey were the other goal kick­ers.

Saints cap­tain Ja­son Hea­gerty led the team well, hav­ing topped the goal kick­ing for the sea­son.

The club thanked Robin Hea­gerty, Re­becca and Brendan Camil­leri. Re­sults: Divi­sion 1: Kananook 11-9 (75) d Mount Waver­ley 7-7 (49).

Divi­sion 2: Fern­tree Gully 10-13 (73) d Wyn­d­ham 4-2 (26).

Divi­sion 3: Parkside 16-6 (102) d Sandown 7-3 (45).

Divi­sion 4: St Albans 5-14 (44) d Ru­pertswood 5-9 (39).
