Funds for com­mu­nity

Seven or­gan­i­sa­tions re­ceived al­most $24,000 in fund­ing from Drouin and Dis­trict Com­mu­nity Bank at a pre­sen­ta­tion evening last week.

In the 2016/17 fi­nan­cial year $234,081 was al­lo­cated to var­i­ous com­mu­nity or­gan­i­sa­tions. This brings the to­tal for the past three fi­nan­cial years to about $772,000.

Fund­ing went to Drouin Com­bined Churches for its an­nual Carols by Can­dle­light, Drouin In­door Car­pet Bowls for a tournament, War­ragul North Pri­mary School for play­ground equip­ment and Drouin Bowl­ing Club for spon­sor­ship and a new se­cu­rity sys­tem.

Fund­ing also was pro­vided to War­ragul Cro­quet Club for a tournament, War­ragul and Dis­trict Gym­nas­tics Club for floor re­place­ment and the Baw Baw Big Blokes Bar­be­cue for spon­sor­ship.
