Warragul Greyhound Club Seniors Day Out

-

On Thursday 26th October, our current President of the Warragul and District Greyhound Racing Club Phil Pryor would like to invite all his fellow seniors to a great day out at the dogs. Phil has been with the club for the past 12 years, and the President for five years.

Phil and his wife Barbara have been professional greyhound owners, breeders, trainers and stud masters for over 43 years and are enthusiastic students of bloodlines and breeding, with Barbara behind the life change by suggesting they get a greyhound together.

In their time as trainers, breeders and owners they have had a great number of competitive and strong dogs, with all of them providing great companionship along the way. One of their dogs, Head Honcho had 18 wins from 20 starts and was inducted to the Victorian Greyhound Racing Hall of Fame. They farm bred and trained many great dogs, and they survived professionally in a very competitive industry.

Phil believes that greyhounds make a great pet, not only for families but for seniors as well. Many of the trainers and owners of Gippsland greyhounds are people over 65 who are enjoying retired life, just like Phil and Barbara, who at 70 retired eight years ago. Phil and Barbara originally moved to their stud farm, Hillview from Melbourne and have now since moved to a unit, where sadly they don’t have the room to have a dog.

“Warragul and District Greyhound Racing Club is a great club to be involved in, it has great people and it does its job well. Adrian and the team have ensured that the club continues to be profitable, well managed and a great place to be” says Phil.

The day kicks off at 11.30am and is only $15 for lunch, a free drink and free entry. Our seniors will be entertained by the Rusty Rockers and it will be a lot of fun.

Bookings essential by calling the club on 5623 1867
