Ute dumped in dam and dirt bike stolen

-

An $11,000 dirt bike is still missing after what police described was a brazen daylight theft in Warragul last week.

Police are investigating the theft of a Toyota Hilux utility and Yamaha YZ250 dirt bike that were stolen from a Sutton St property just after 10am on Sunday, October 29th.

The dirt bike was in the back of the silver utility.

The utility was later recovered where it was dumped in a dam at Moir Rd, Trafalgar East. Police said the utility had extensive water damage and was unrepairable.

Police said two offenders left the scene riding the motorbike towards Trafalgar.

Police believe two males were involved in the incident and may have been driving a burnt orange Commodore. The registration may have been ZXT or similar.

The two males were reported to be aged in their 20s. The driver had dark hair and the passenger was wearing a cap.

The cap was located at Trafalgar East where the offenders allegedly dumped the utility.

Anyone with information that may assist investigations should contact leading senior constable Kevin Scouller at Trafalgar Police or Crimestoppers 1800 333000.
