Choosing to bat first the home side set a good pace from the outside.
Debutant Josh Phillips top scored with 45 with good support from Ben O’Neill (35). Jason Ridler (18) and Mick O’Neill (21*) kept the scoreboard ticking over in the latter overs.
Rob Park and James Davidson each took two wickets. In reply, the Lyrebirds were all-out for 152. Jason Ridler was the best of the bowlers with 3/13 off six overs with James Francs chipping in with 3/33.
Panthers pounce
Yarragon 7/137 (cc) def. Western Park 10/114 Yarragon came out on top in its one-day contest with Western Park.
Choosing to bat first the Panthers got away to a good start through Carlo Ierfone (25) and Steve Green (38).
Kurt Borsato lifted the run rate late in the innings with a boundary laden 47 (five fours and two sixes) as the home side batted out their allotted overs.
Dayne O’Dwyer was the pick of the bowlers with 2/22 off seven overs. Josh Winfield chimed in with 2/32.
