Buln Buln v Western Park An outstanding all-around bowling performance has seen Western Park take the upper hand in their clash with Buln Buln at the weekend.

Winning the toss and bowling, this decision clearly paid dividends with Jacob Konstanty, Jackson Hefford and Jacob Taylor all taking two wickets to skittle Buln for 46 off 35 overs.

Patty Ireland (18) was the only main contributor for the Lyrebirds. Ellinbank v Drouin Ellinbank has been saved from certain defeat by some wayward Drouin bowling, as they made 9-75 off their 40 overs with 55 of these coming from extras.

Despite this, Drouin’s bowlers were effective as Bill Gibbons (3-8), Samual Graziotin (2-7) and Nicholas Caddy (2-8) all chimed in to give the Hawks the upper-hand. Jindivick v Hallora A resilient 38 from Chris Diston has given Hallora a competitive 103 on a slow Jindivick outfield.

Diston held the innings together in fine fashion, against terrific bowling from the quartet of Kynan Rintoule, Flynn Pallot, Riley Feil and Joseph Simpson, who all took two wickets in what was a disciplined and aggressive bowling performance from the young Jumping Jacks. Longwarry v Garfield-Tynong A wonderful spell of bowling from Finton Fox (4-4) was the highlight for the Crows as they conceded 148 against an evenly-spread Garfield-Tynong outfield.

Fox backed up his outstanding performance with the ball from last week, to hold Longwarry in the contest, and in turn received valued support from Tate Wright and Ben Mitchell, who each collected two wickets. Yarragon v Neerim District A determined 47 not out from Riley Ferguson has created a fairly even contest between Neerim and Yarragon.

After being in danger at 6-53, Ferguson played a captains knock to guide his side to 7109 off 40 overs, and give the bowlers a decent chance against a talented Yarragon side.

Panther openers Josh Smith-Butterworth and Addison Cumming were the pick of the bowlers, each taking two wickets in an even performance.

Hallora/Ellinbank v Warragul Both an even batting and bowling performance from each team was the story from day one of this clash at Hallora.

Winning the toss and batting, solid contributions from Austin Williamson (25) and Matt Garvey (25) lifted the Gulls to a competitive 5113 off 40 overs.

For the Kangas, five individual wicket takers was pleasing, however no one could get the strikes necessary to take the absolute ascendancy heading into next week. Drouin v Longwarry A ferocious knock of 77 not out from Bailey Osseweyer has lifted Drouin to a terrific 6-173 at Drouin Recreation Reserve on the weekend.

Osseweyer was brutal from the outset, dispatching balls to all parts, before unleashing a torrent at the end to give the Hawks the edge over a strong Longwarry outfit.

For the Crows, Harry Stephens (2-6) and Leo Green (2-41), attempted to stop the onslaught, however it was to be Osseweyer’s day. Garfield-Tynong v Buln Buln Jacob Tenace-Greenall (45) and Liam Lenders (37) were the pick of the batsmen on a slow day at Tynong.

The Titans kept wickets in hand, but tight bowling from Buln Buln kept them to a chaseable 4-116 off 40 overs.

Wickets were shared for Buln, who will be happy with their consistent performance throughout their attack, giving their batsmen a chance next week.

Jindivick/Neerim had the bye.
