Roads to be sold

-

Two sections of unused road and a road reserve will be closed and sold.

Baw Baw Shire has approved requested from the Land Environment Water and Planning Department (DELWP) to issue notices for three portions of government road in the shire.

DELWP has requested council consent to the sale of the three sections of road and road reserve including:

An unmade government road at the back of Drouin Speedway adjoining 32 Beattie Rd, Jindivick;

An unmade government road adjoining 1114 Main Neerim Rd; and,

A road reserve adjacent to 759 Buln Buln Rd which is currently fenced within the boundary of this property.

Officers said this would result in a good outcome for the adjoining property owners and will not impact the broader community.

Cr Peter Kostos said although council did not own the land, it has to go through a process of closing the roads before DELWP can sell the parcels.
