A crisp autumn day heralded the start of the President’s Cup.

Fifty-seven Warragul women participat­ed in the par event sponsored by president Lorraine Kennedy.

Winner of the event was Angela Stewart, a new comer to golf who has been on the winning dais a few times recently. Angela’s score was +5.

Her nearest rival was the winner of A grade Kerri Ahearn, with +3 from Helen Amott +1.

Winner of B grade on a count back was Lisa Heggart with -1 from Lorraine Kennedy.

Winner of C Grade was Angela Stewart from Lesley Huggins +1.

Down the line balls went to Kay Thompson +1, Shirley Todd, Tracey Cusden, and Jennie Weir all on -2, Mary Knersch, Chris James, Dianne McKay, Wilma Henshall, Janine Williams, Mary Gargan, Denise Weir and Noel Mackenzie all on -3.

Nearest the pin on the seventh was Lesley Huggins while Mary Gargan was the closest on the 15th.

Winner of A grade mystery six was Helen Amott with Mary Gargan the winner of B grade.

There were 13 women who played in the nine-hole competitio­n.

The winner was Rhonda Rhodes with +1 on a countback from Annie Boyer.

Down the line balls went to Nancy Devries and Dorothy Logan both square with the card and Jan Cobbin -1.

Being a public holiday for ANZAC day tomorrow, the pro shop is running a stableford event which is open to both men and women.
