Find Your Treasure was the theme of Book Week activities at Chairo Christian School.

Students in grades prep to year four dressed up as their favourite book characters for a special parade.

Many students came ready to go exploring to find their treasure, complete with magnifying glasses or binoculars, while others dressed as a favourite book character or someone from a story they treasure.

With excellent support from parents, siblings and grandparents, the students thoroughly enjoyed the fun and creativity that are always features of Book Week.

This annual Children’s Book Council of Australia initiative aims to engage young people to read Australian literature.

A highlight of Chairo’s parade was a performance by staff members, who bravely went on a bear hunt and discovered a treasure chest full of books.

Chairo Christian School teachers move through the “thick oozy mud” during a hunt for treasure which was one of the Book Week activities.
