Drug charges follow ar­rests

A 23-year-old Long­warry woman was ar­rested when po­lice re­sponded to a fam­ily vi­o­lence in­ci­dent yes­ter­day morn­ing.

Po­lice were called to the Brit­tle­wood Lane prop­erty at 8am as a re­sult of a dis­pute.

Po­lice ar­rested a woman at the ad­dress who will be charged with as­sault­ing po­lice and pos­ses­sion of drugs.

In other in­ci­dents, po­lice also ar­rested two men for pos­sess­ing drugs, on two con­sec­u­tive nights at a Long­warry ser­vice sta­tion.

Po­lice at­tended at the Cal­tex ser­vice sta­tion west bound at 1.20am on Tues­day morn­ing when they in­ter­cepted and ar­rested a man in the carpark.

The 43-year-old Of­fi­cer man was charged for be­ing in pos­ses­sion of ice and speed. He was bailed to ap­pear at Latrobe Val­ley Mag­is­trates’ Court at a later date.

At 3am the fol­low­ing morn­ing, po­lice also ar­rested a 21-year-old Dan­de­nong South man who was asleep in his ve­hi­cle at the Long­warry ser­vice sta­tion. Po­lice lo­cated a quantity of ice in the ve­hi­cle.

The man was charged and bailed to ap­pear at Dan­de­nong Mag­is­trates’ Court at a later date.

More than $5000 worth of prop­erty in­clud­ing com­put­ers was stolen from a busi­ness premises in Master­son Crt, War­ragul last week.

The bur­glary and theft oc­curred overnight on Septem­ber 2.

Of­fend­ers forced en­try via the front door be­fore steal­ing a Dell com­puter, an Asus lap­top, three I-pads and three Mil­wau­kee cord­less drills. The stolen prop­erty was valued at $5400.

In an­other in­ci­dent, Makita power tools, an angle grinder and as­sorted tools valued at $1400 were stolen from a garage in Sand­stock Drv, War­ragul.

The bur­glary oc­curred be­tween 5.30pm on Thurs­day night and 4.30am the fol­low­ing morn­ing.

Po­lice said there were no signs of forced en­try.
