Minimal train disruptions

Warragul & Drouin Gazette - - NEWS -

Disruptions to scheduled V/Line train services for Gippsland will be minimal in November ahead of virtually a month without trains.

There will be no trains running in the region from December 1 to 23.

Road coaches will replace Gippsland trains next Sunday and Monday but trains will return on Tuesday, Melbourne Cup day.

The only other November disruptions for train travellers will be between the 18th and 21st when coaches will replace “some late evening” Gippsland trains.

V/Line’s senior communications adviser James Upfill said replacement bus services would be a mix of express, semi-express and stop all stations while work continues on upgrading the Melbourne-Pakenham section of the metropolitan network that is shared by V/line and Metro trains.

He said the cancellation of trains next Sunday and Monday were during a quieter period before the Melbourne Cup public holiday.

Gippsland passengers should allow between an extra 60 and 90 minutes when travelling to or from the city on buses.

Details of next month’s train service disruptions were released last Thursday after the major cancellations in December were announced in September.
