Warragul & Drouin Gazette - - DISTRICT GOLF -

Saturday was the second and final round of the spring sprint, with 82 players experiencing fresh, but dry conditions.

With many players not completing their first round last week due to constant rain, the players that were brave enough to complete their round put themselves in with a great chance to take out the two round event.

The eventual winner of the spring sprint was Rob Koppe, who has been performing very consistently of late, and his two round total of 76 points (38 and 38) was more evidence of his good form.

The daily event saw some fantastic scores, with the highlight coming from David Grafton who returned a brilliant 45 points to win B grade.

A grades’ winner wasn’t too far behind, with Bruce Salmon returning an excellent 42 points.

DTL: Ben Ross 44, Graham Moon 43, Peter Browne 40, Greg Street 40, Jamie Sparrow 40, John Gardiner 39.

Wednesday had 69 players taking on a par event. The good scoring continued, with Matt Roberts firing an impressive score of plus six to win A grade.

Surrounded by opponents, Kelsey LeMercier looks for a Chalkies Force teammate to pass out of trouble.
