IT’S OFFICIAL, the Australian World Cup Polocrosse team has been announced.

Within the team of eight, there are three players from the Grills family in New South Wales.

This includes siblings Lucy and Jim Grills, and their cousin Abbott.

Taking place from April

22–29 next year, the Adina Polocrosse World Cup is the biggest international event on the polocrosse calendar and will be the largest international sporting event ever to be held in rural Australia.

The event will be played in Warwick and is set to attract

60,000 spectators, more than

2000 international visitors, and 300 players from eight countries, all battling it out for the sport’s top honour.

The Aussie team will be coached by Arch Anderson, from New South Wales, and assistant coach Cameron Shepherd, from Queensland.

Warwick Polocrosse Club president Les Fraser described the team as “balanced”.

“They will do a great job representing Australia at the World Cup,” he said.

“Some are very experienced while others are up-and-coming athletes playing for their country for the first time.

“It is going to be exciting to watch this team perform together.”
