Long-term tenant looks to future
ROSE City Premium Meats co-owner Peter Wright has been in Rose City Shoppingworld from day one. He was working with Carey Bros when the butchery opened in the Rose City Centre in 1984.
“Back then the end of the shopping centre was where the newsagent’s going to be,” Mr Wright said.
“Down here was originally where Woollies was in the first centre and then they moved up to where they are now in 1997 and Bi-Lo moved in and refurbished and opened in March 1998.
“It was the first time we got a proper food court, before that there was only the carvery.
“A lot has come and gone since then. I think we’ve been lucky to have such a good centre to keep people shopping in locally.”
Peter Wright has seen a lot of changes in 20 years.
