Dual citizens are ‘in it together’

Warwick Daily News - - NEWS | NATION -

THE dual citizenship cases of Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce (pictured), Senator Nick Xenophon and Nationals senators Matt Canavan and Fiona Nash were “materially indistinguishable”, Solicitor-General Stephen Donaghue QC, representing the Federal Government, told the High Court yesterday. Sitting as the Court of Disputed Returns, the High Court will determine whether seven MPs and senators breached the constitution by holding dual citizenship while they were parliamentarians. Mr Donaghue said it was “virtually inevitable they will stand or fall together”.
