Guilty of help­ing IS

A US sol­dier based in Hawaii has pleaded guilty to try­ing to help Is­lamic State.

Sergeant 1st Class Ikaika Kang, 35, told a judge he pro­vided se­cret mil­i­tary in­for­ma­tion, a drone meant to track US troops and other sup­port to pur­ported mem­bers of the ter­ror­ist or­gan­i­sa­tion.

Kang pleaded guilty to all four charges that were laid against him.

He is ex­pected to be jailed for 25 years as part of a plea agree­ment when he is sen­tenced for the of­fences on De­cem­ber 10.
