Oprah goes ba­nanas for this tea

THERE are few cer­tain­ties in life – death, taxes and that Oprah al­ways knows best.

So when her sleep doc­tor, Dr Michael Breus, spills hacks on get­ting a good qual­ity night’s rest, we wel­come it with open arms.

In a chat with the Daily Mail, the sleep ex­pert re­vealed he swears by a ba­nana tea be­fore bed to help you catch some zeds.

The recipe? “Take a chunk of or­ganic ba­nana, peel on, cut it in half and, with the stem and tip re­moved, brew it in boil­ing wa­ter for four min­utes,” he said, be­fore ex­plain­ing it’s “loaded with mag­ne­sium, which is very calm­ing and is a great re­place­ment for camomile tea”.

We know that Jesinta Franklin is a fan of har­ness­ing mag­ne­sium for sleep – putting mag­ne­sium oil on her feet each night be­fore bed.

Mag­ne­sium oil has been gain­ing trac­tion lately, with the health set es­pous­ing its many health ben­e­fits, some few which in­clude boost­ing en­ergy, calm­ing nerves, aid­ing di­ges­tion, re­liev­ing mus­cu­lar is­sues and even, in some peo­ple, pre­vent­ing mi­graines.

So next time you find your­self count­ing sheep, you might be bet­ter off boil­ing ba­nanas in­stead.
