Bullet to miss clash with old club
Former Taipan Cameron Gliddon’s first meeting against his old club will need to wait, with the shooting guard likely to miss tonight’s preseason clash in Rockhampton.
Brisbane veteran Adam Gibson – a new teammate of Gliddon’s at the Bullets – has played down the pending grudge match, pointing to Cairns’ offseason turnover of their roster.
“Cairns have pretty much a whole new team now,” Gibson said.
After their closed-doors preseason game on Wednesday night in Central Queensland, the two NBL clubs will play in front of a crowd tonight as they ramp up towards round one of the 2018-19 season.
Gliddon is recovering from back surgery and Gibson says the former Cairns captain is on track for a return soon.
“Cam had a shading of a disc in his back – it was not a major thing,” Gibson said.
“He is back running, shooting and whatever. I expect him to be back on court with the team over the next week.”
