SOUTH­ERN Downs farm­ers will re­ceive free hay bale de­liv­er­ies. Lo­cal com­mu­nity or­gan­i­sa­tions will de­liver bales to pro­vide much-needed drought re­lief to farm­ers in the South­ern Downs. Ru­ral Aid, Pur­ple Dove, Stan­thorpe Agri­cul­tural So­ci­ety and the Gran­ite Belt Brew­ery will de­liver the bales along with other farm­ing sup­plies to Stan­thorpe Show­grounds on Oc­to­ber 31. Road trains will de­liver 240 large hay bales to the show­grounds while Pur­ple Dove will dis­trib­ute food ham­pers, dog food and lick blocks to the re­gion’s hard­est-hit farm­ers.
