Num­bers set to pass 200 for round 2 of Dragfest

MORE than 200 driv­ers and rid­ers will be in War­wick this week­end for round 2 of the JP Rac­ing Dragfest at War­wick Drag­way.

War­wick Dis­trict Drag Rac­ing As­so­ci­a­tion pres­i­dent Chris Loy said there were 170 nom­i­na­tions a week out from the event.

“We will eas­ily pass 200,” Mr Loy said.

Driv­ers will come from as far as Syd­ney, Mel­bourne, Townsville and Mackay.

Mr Loy said there were large con­tin­gents of driv­ers/rid­ers from the north­ern rivers of New South Wales, Roma and St Ge­orge ar­eas.

“We are likely to have 20 nom­i­na­tions from War­wick and 30 to 40 from Toowoomba,” he said.

Nom­i­na­tions for the thrilling event will be taken up to noon to­day.

To find War­wick Drag­way, head around to the fourth fa­cil­ity on the Mor­gan Park ser­vice road.
