Warwick Daily News - - SPORT - GERARD WALSH

The Warwick Wildcats will head to Woodenbong today for the first Heathley Big Q Basketball League game south of the border.

Warwick assistant coach Jeff Clark said his brother Jay Clark had inspected the facilities at the Woodenbong High School and found the stadium had a nice wooden floor.

“Mountaineers development team coach Danny Morseu is an indigenous ambassador and is taking a Mountaineers home game to Woodenbong,” Clark said.

“In recent years, a number of indigenous players from Woodenbong have come to Warwick to play basketball on a Wednesday night.”

D.J. Cremasco is out as he is still struggling with a foot injury. His brother Josh Cremasco came through two games last weekend after a hamstring injury and is set to be in the starting five again.

Clark is expecting Sam Wall to play more today after scoring 16 points in 10 minutes off the bench last weekend.

“He had a good return for his time on the court and shot confidently,” Clark said.

Warwick is the only A-grade team with an unbeaten record this season.

After a trip to northern New South Wales this weekend, the Wildcats will be back on the road to Toowoomba to play Saints the following weekend, the only team they are yet to play in this year’s Big Q competition.

Finals for the regional competition will be played in early December.
