Bal­divis boom­ing, says ABS

BAL­DIVIS is the sixth largest grow­ing sub­urb in Aus­tralia and the sec­ond largest in WA, ac­cord­ing to the lat­est data re­leased by the Aus­tralian Bureau of Sta­tis­tics.

The sub­urb’s pop­u­la­tion in­creased to 32,817, af­ter an 11.5 per cent growth rate in 2015-16, with 3389 peo­ple mov­ing into the area dur­ing the 12month pe­riod.

The group­ing of Sin­gle­ton, Golden Bay and Se­cret Har­bour was WA’s 10th largest grow­ing area, with a com­bined pop­u­la­tion growth of 3.7 per cent, up to 20,523. An­ketell and Wandi were the fourth fastest grow­ing sub­urbs, in­creas­ing by 13 per cent to 2068.

Ber­tram and West Wel­lard had the eighth fastest growth, up 9.1 per cent to 13,242, while Ca­sua­r­ina and East Wel­lard were 10th, with a growth rate of 6.6 per cent to 2452.
