Exhibit honours battle
THE Battle of Australia exhibit is in Rockingham over the Anzac week.
South Metropolitan Region MLC Phil Edman said the exhibit was organised to coincide with Anzac Day.
“The sacrifices made by the men and women of Australia during the Second World War on our home soil is nothing short of remarkable and must be honoured,” he said.
The exhibit features a range of World War II memorabilia and an assortment of equipment used by the Japanese Imperial Forces and the Australian Army.
Also on display will be storyboards outlining the sequence of events that threatened Australia’s survival, including the details of the numerous bombings conducted by the Japanese.
“When viewed in its entirety, the vast collection of artefacts and visual aids assist in telling the story of these brave Australians who defended our coastline during the Second World War,” Mr Edman said.
