CATE Peace is guest speaker at the Fam­ily History So­ci­ety of Rockingham and dis­tricts meet­ing on May 6.

She is a ge­netic ge­neal­o­gist and the con­venor of the DNA in­ter­est group at the WA Ge­nealog­i­cal So­ci­ety.

Ms Peace has been us­ing DNA test­ing to fur­ther her own fam­ily history re­search, as well as help­ing oth­ers to break through brick walls us­ing a com­bi­na­tion of DNA test­ing and tra­di­tional archival meth­ods.

The talk is a con­tin­u­a­tion of a pre­vi­ous talk in Novem­ber 2016, and ex­plains an es­sen­tial tool for DNA Ged­match for DNA and fam­ily history re­search.

Ged­match is a free se­cure web­site, where any­one can up­load their DNA and find more ge­netic cousins.
