Weekend Courier - - Sport -

STRATOSPHERE took advantage of a classic rails run to claim the Prime Trophies Kanyana Cup (490m) at Kanyana Park Mandurah last Friday.

The John Iwanyk-trained chaser launched from the pole but was initially beaten to the lead by the fast jumping Ryan Monelli.

Stratosphere quickly clicked into top gear and railed underneath Ryan Monelli to capture the front-running position before they hit the corner. He rolled into the home straight and skipped away to score by more than three lengths in 27.46.

His record is now five wins from 14 starts and boosted his stakes to just under $15,000.

Earlier in the evening the talented Max Profit strolled to a comfortable victory in the Prime Cups Free To All over 405m.

The Corey White-prepared dog took control of the race early and marched to victory more than five lengths ahead of kennelmate Lee’s Maggie in 22.47. James Broadhurst
