COMMUNITY FEEL AT WELLARD VILLAGE
A NEW land release is giving buyers a chance to live in the heart of award-winning The Village at Wellard, with shops, cafes, train and beautiful parks on the doorstep.
The 10 blocks released last weekend in The Village Centre south stage five range from 273sq m to 429sq m and are priced from $165,000 to $220,000.
They are on Sowood Street and Portobello Parade, which are between a nature play park and an adventure park.
All stage five lots are less than 10 minutes walk from The Village centre, with a Woolworths supermarket, cafes and specialty stores. They are also near The Village Centre south park.
A joint venture between Peet and the WA Housing Authority, the estate is renowned for its community feel and natural features, which include 10ha of wetlands and 17ha of retained bushland, providing beautiful outlooks for many homes and great nature escapes for residents.
Amy Tunnecliffe, who is moving into the community with partner Nathan Reid in the next month, said they loved the bush vibe.
“Some estates are just flat and lifeless but we love that they left all the tall gum trees and the banksia,” she said.
“We were after a 550sqm block as we didn’t want the house up against the back fence but could have a back yard for our dogs. We also wanted to be across the road from a park and we’ve got that too.
“There’s barbecues and neighbours meet at that park almost every afternoon, and there are always parties and gatherings happening there.”
Jack Shaw and his partner Sarah Marshall will soon move into their new home after finalising the block purchase last November.
“Our builder recommended a range of lots for us to look at,” he said. “We went to The Village at Wellard. It was green, pretty chilled out and seemed like a really nice spot. And with the train station there, its value should go up in the future.”
With their first child due in November, the couple are looking forward to moving from their rented one-bedroom apartment to the three-bedroom, two-bathroom house.
The mechanical fitter will also be happy to have a fuss-free commute of less than 30 minutes from Wellard to his Canning Vale workplace.
The Village at Wellard is more than 70 per cent complete.
It has won national and state awards, including UDIA WA Awards for Excellence for Best Residential Development over 250 lots in 2016 and Best Masterplanned Development in 2015.
