CHIL­DREN can get up close and per­sonal with many fas­ci­nat­ing Aus­tralian an­i­mals at a range of work­shops be­ing held at the Rockingham Re­gional En­vi­ron­ment Cen­tre to­day and to­mor­row.

New to Perth, this fam­ily event fea­tures four dy­namic work­shops pre­sented by Crit­ters Up Close, Wild About Na­ture, WestOz Wildlife and The Snake Whis­perer.

Cen­tre spokes­woman Pauline White­head said chil­dren can ex­plore the fea­tures of a va­ri­ety of birds, rep­tiles, mam­mals and in­ver­te­brates.

“They will also build an an­i­mal habi­tat suit­able for a na­tive Aus­tralian an­i­mal us­ing re­cy­cled and nat­u­ral ma­te­ri­als,” she said.
