COMPETITION WILL BE SMOKING HOT
IT'S officially called the Make Smoking History Forest Rally, but the second round of the Australian Rally Championship (ARC) is certain to create a lot of dust.
More than 50 crews will contest the Forest Rally through the forests of Nannup this weekend (April 21-23).
The field has many of the next generation of Australian rally competitors, among them young gun Harry Bates and co-driver John McCarthy who head into the event leading the ARC, following victory at the Eureka Rally in Ballarat last month. However, they will have to fight against a strong field of rivals, such as reigning ARC champions Molly Taylor and Perth co-driver Bill Hayes in their Subaru, former ARC champions Eli Evans/Glen Weston in a Mini Cooper AP4, and local crews of Dylan King/Abbey Hayes, Brad Markovic/Toni Feaver and John O'Dowd/Kenneth Shiel will be hoping to knock off their interstate rivals.
