Spring into park fun

FAM­I­LIES are en­cour­aged to visit their lo­cal park and en­joy some free spring fun with the an­nual Parks Play series that will be­gin at Wel­lard Oval on Wed­nes­day, Septem­ber 27.

The City of Kwinana Healthy Life­styles Team will lead sports and games that ev­ery­one can par­tic­i­pate in from 10am to noon.

There will be a spe­cial ap­pear­ance by Com­mon­wealth Games ath­lete Luke Cann, the Aus­tralian un­der-20 javelin record holder with a per­sonal best of 81.07m.

Cann came sec­ond in the Com­mon­wealth Youth Games, sev­enth at both the World Ju­nior Cham­pi­onships and Glas­gow Com­mon­wealth Games and sec­ond at the re­cent 2017 Aus­tralian Cham­pi­onships.

The Parks Play event is the first in a series of four held through­out the com­mu­nity, en­cour­ag­ing res­i­dents to en­joy the City’s beau­ti­ful parks and play­grounds.

There will also be give­aways for lucky par­tic­i­pants.
