Mural masterpiece for Margaret
A LOVE for animals and art led Brenton See to paint and the artist has just finished another colourful masterpiece in Leda, dedicated to WA’s first female town planner, Margaret Feilman.
The 31-year-old was approached by Leda shopping centre and the City of Kwinana to create a mural on the wall between Chemist Warehouse and Leda Newsagency and Lottery on Feilman Street.
It took See eight-and-ahalf days to create a six metre high by 14m wide mural.
“Margaret had a lot to do with designing the parks around the Kwinana and Leda area in the 1950s and she opted to leave a lot of parks and not disturb the natural habitat of animals and wildlife,” he said.
“The street this mural is painted on was named after her. Margaret enjoyed visual art and the background flower I designed in the half triangle of the wall mural is a simplified version of one of her paintings.”
